I've been looking for a pretend make-up toy that doesn't have actual lip gloss or other 'pretend' makeup for my 3 year old for MONTHS and finally found this set and am THRILLED with it! It's very pretty and my daughter absolutely loves it! I read the other reviews and there is one negative one talks about the brushes being made out of yarn - I think this is great because it's soft on her face, it also talks about the lipstick not staying in the case and nail polish not staying in place - my daughter could care less and neither can I. It's made out of wood which is better than a cheap plastic toy and all the items fit in the make-up bag it comes with to make it easy to tote around and keep track of. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I am absolutely in love with this product and I will use it for the rest of my life! For the first time in so long, I actually felt confident enough to leave my house without foundation. Men have been flirting with me everywhere I seem to go these days. A man approached me at the grocery store and told me I was a beautiful lady and that my husband is very lucky! I first learned about CeraVe from my excellent dermatologist. I've had problems with acne for over a decade [since early teenage years] and my skin in that time has transitioned from oily all over to quite dry in some parts, oily in others. I gave this five stars because this stuff is amazing!!! I turn 42 in a few months and don't really have a lot of wrinkles but I do have large pores and skin discoloration (I refuse to call these age spots yet!!!) plus years of sun damage, I could definitely use some more elasticity and at this point I am not expecting miracles. BUT wow!! After a week of using this, I really saw a dramatic difference in my pores, they were tighter as was my skin but I have more plumpness to it. The few scars I had that I've actually tried to bleach gone, they are almost completely faded. I even had someone ask me if I had a mini face lift or skin resurfacing (is there such a thing??) as if I had the money to afford that. This truly is a face lift in a bottle. I even had my mom try this, she's turning 62 here shortly and she isn't gung ho on spending a bunch of time or money on products that don't work. I assured her this wasn't one of them. After 8 days of using this she couldn't believe the results, her face was plump, young and smooth looking. Her and I both are seriously impressed. I guess this works best because it has Hyaluronic Acid, plus Vitamin C plus Tripeptide 31 combination. Most others don't have all three, just the two or only one. This is the first mud mask I have ever used. It was easy to use. Just mix one tsp of water to 1/2 tsp of clay powder. It mixes easily into a smooth silky mix. Once prepared you apply it to your skin. As soon as I started putting it on my face I could feel it tightening, I got this hoping it would help with acne and it has. My face is smoother than ever, cleaner, and I have not had acne in over a week.

There are a lot of "fake CHI" accusations flying around here. I can assure you, most of the people saying these things are misunderstanding the relevant facts. I'm going to try and break it all down for potential buyers, then I'll give my review of this flat iron, so feel free to skip ahead.



First of all, it's important to understand that "CHI" and "CHI Home" are two different brands with different products. They are both by Farouk and both are listed on the Farouk website. The product you are currently reading reviews about is a "CHI Home" product, NOT a "CHI" product.



"CHI" products include the original "CHI" ceramic flat iron that everyone knows and loves. This original "CHI" and other "CHI" products can only be sold by authorized dealers. These dealers include Ulta, Trade Secret, and many salons that can be looked up on the Farouk website, they cannot be bought on Amazon or Target, etc. There was a lawsuit by Farouk in response to the huge number of counterfeit "CHI" products being sold.



"CHI Home" was created in 2009 to expand the "CHI" technologies to a broader consumer market (i.e. Amazon shoppers.) "CHI Home" products, including the flat iron you are reading about right now, are sold in a variety of places including: Amazon, Target, KOHL's, and Walgreens.com, among others. These are listed on the Farouk website's product page for this flat iron.



Most of the people leaving negative reviews seem to not understand the difference between "CHI" products and "CHI Home" products. "CHIs" were designed for professional salon use, while "CHI Home" products were designed for consumers to use at home. I think some people ordered a "CHI Home" product and expected a "CHI" product. They then used the "CHI" lawsuit to support their claims that "fake CHIs" were being sold, but they were never supposed to receive a "CHI" product and the lawsuit never had anything to do with "CHI Home" products.



If you're going to buy one of these, make sure it says "Shipped and Sold By: Amazon.com" (or another seller listed on the Farouk website on the product's page) before you buy it, so you know it is a real "CHI Home" product.



My Review of this flat Iron:



Since "CHI Home" products are not designed for professional use, they may be considered lower quality than "CHI" products by some. I have a 1' "CHI" ceramic flat iron and this product. This one is slightly lighter than the "CHI," but the length and width are the same. They feel a bit different when you use them. It's hard to explain the difference, but the "CHI" feels sturdier and heavier than this flat iron.



Clamping the iron and running it down your hair is smoother with the "CHI." With the "CHI" I can run it over and through my hair quickly without ever catching a strand, but this iron will snag a hair or two if you're not careful. The basic "CHI" only has an on/off switch, but this flat iron has 5 temperature settings (180, 240, 300, 360, & 410 degrees.) Both heat up quickly, but I believe this one's maximum temperature is higher than the fixed temperature of the "CHI." The tourmaline ceramic in this flat iron is supposed to be less harmful to your hair than the regular ceramic.



I cannot tell any difference in the results, but my hair doesn't need much straightening (it's straight if I blow dry it and slightly wavy if it air dries.) The temperature control is great for me because I can use a lower setting after I blow dry my hair to eliminate any frizz and make it silky, and a higher setting if my hair air dried and I need to get rid of waves or kinks. The benefits of the tourmaline ceramic and the temperature control make it worth while, in my opinion. I don't know how this compares to other brands though because I've only used Farouk flat irons.

I just purchased this new scrub. Like the other reviewer's, I've used St. Ives Apricot Scrub for years. I absolutely love it. But when I went to my local store and saw that all of the apricot scrubs were already purchased, I found this wonderful surprise sitting all by it's lonesome. I love the exfoliating action of st. Ives products and so on a whim, I decided to purchase this.



This scrub is phenominal! I'm not a fan of anything orange flavored or scented, but this smells wonderful. And although it is light and creamy (much lighter in texture/color than the apricot scrub), it's exfoliative action is powerful! After my very first use, my skin was bright and glowing. It looked/feltvery clean.



This definitely will be my new go-to product, and I think St. Ives has found a lifelong Even and Bright fan in me.



I will highly recommend this to anyone looking for a new scrub from this company.

I am 39 years old and have very sensitive skin, and because of that I had been using fragrance-free products by Clinique. I always thought I looked pretty young until I saw a picture of myself at 29. My skin was so much better looking! After doing some research I decided to give this a try based upon the favorable reviews, low cost and the fact that it's fragrance free. (Perfumed lotions make me sneeze).



After one use, I noticed a few things. My skin did tingle slightly for a couple of hours, but it wasn't painful; just mildly annoying. But there was no rash or irritation. My cheeks looked a bit red, however it appeared more like a natural tint. The second thing I noticed is that my skin almost immediately looked better! I know that sounds crazy. I also didn't need to put on any blush because of the tint I mentioned. As the day wore on, the tingling went away. (I also started using Neutrogena Light Night Cream for a moisturizer- it's fragrance-free, and doesn't have sunscreen which I don't need every day.)



I applied it the next morning again and noticed the same things. I decided to try it every other day and have to say I REALLY notice a difference! My skin looks almost as good as my pic from ten years ago.



I think the minor discomfort I mentioned is due to my sensitivity to most products, but because I am so pleased with the results I'm sticking with it.



Update: After using this for a week I no longer have any sensitivity and my skin is incredibly soft and luminous!



Update 11/2013: I'm going to be turning 46 and still use and love this item!

I've been using Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion along with Moisture On-Call for years. This winter has been especially brisk, so my skin was still dry no matter how much product I put on.

This weekend, I saw the Olay at my local warehouse store (3.4fl oz/100ml size) and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the results! My skin now feels soft and moisturized. I will continue using this product because it is fragrance free (so is Clinique), but in additon: oil-free and has SPF-15.

My daughter was happy to get this until we opened it, the clips we're broke, the naile Polish will not show up no matter how many coats you put on; this just leaves you with some lip gloss and small body stickers that done stick.

I found this when I was searching for just the right natural pre-wedding skin care routine last year. Of course, I wanted my skin to be healthy and glowing on my wedding day so I did lots of research to find my ideal routine. After some trial and error, I came up with the following products:



1) Dr. Woods Pure Black Soap - use to wash face twice daily

2) Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel - use as toner twice daily

3) Burts Bees Radiance Day Lotion with SPF 15 - use in the a.m.

4) Desert Essence 100% Natural Jojoba Oil - use as moisturizer before bed

5) St. Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish & Blackhead Control - use to gently exfoliate twice a week

6) Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask - use after exfoliating once a week in acne-prone areas only



This combination of products really has given me the best skin of my life. I did get a zit on the day before my wedding, but that was from stress and I don't believe that any products I used could have avoided that. It wasn't huge though so I easily covered it with makeup. Other than that one zit though, my skin looked very nice. Also, after the wedding, I started skimping on my routine and did begin breaking out much more often and lost that healthy glow. Once I started back up with religiously following my routine, my skin is very smooth and nice again.



I love that the Thayers Witch Hazel is credited for providing younger-looking skin. I am only 24 so I can't speak to that, but love knowing that something I use twice everyday is likely going to slow the aging process of my skin.

CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion, 12-Ounce Bottle

I have dry skin and I've always loved CeraVe lotion as an all-over body moisturizer that could also be used on the face; but I wished they would make a face lotion with an SPF of at least 30. My wish was answered, although not completely.



Like the regular lotion, this is pretty much fragrance-free, which I love. I hate fragrance in my skincare. I can detect a very faint scent if I bury my nose in it, (I tried it on my hand first) but the scent quickly dissipates.



It's thicker than the regular lotion so it doesn't immediately soak in. It's almost like a cream. It leaves a slight sheen/glow to your face for 10 minutes or so before it completely absorbs. I like that since my face is dry, but if you have an oily complexion, you may not. But even after it's fully absorbed, I can still "feel" it on my face. That I don't like.



This has both chemical and physical sunscreen, so you may not like this because of the chemicals. It has also parabens which you may be trying to avoid. Neither of these bother me but it may be a deal-breaker for you.



Other than the chemical SPF ingredients and parabens, it does have good ingredients such as ceramides, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid. It's hard to find ceramides in the inexpensive skincare lines so I'll continue to use this unless something better comes along.



I wish I could give this 5 stars but I can't. If it would soak in and I couldn't "feel" it, I would probably give it 5 stars. Also, I don't care for the flip-open cap, a pump would have been more convenient, but at least it's NOT a jar.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?) I know you are wondering if a $28 item can compare at all to something that cost nearly ten times the price. The answer is YES! I have the Clarisonic Pro - which is the top of the line for their model, so before you spend the money on both, I'll do a side by side comparison for you. Mind you, I am VERY happy with my Clairsonic. Even knowing that this I am happy I made the purchase for both of them, since they are fairly different. Here's why:



Size: The Olay Pro-X is about half the size of the Clarisonic. This is actually better in many ways. It is easier to hold, lightweight, it fits in my shower caddy easily without dropping, you can travel with it very easily. I think this is my favorite part about the differences. It also makes the brush head much smaller, which has a different effect. Of course, the motor is at least half the size as well, and this effects how this feels. I can't actually say it is better or worse than the Clarisonic, it's just different. It is like getting a Sweedish massage (Olay) as opposed to a deep tissue massage (Clarisonic).



Cleansing Products: The Olay cleansing formula has tiny granules and is exfoliating. The Clarisonic cleansers are gels and the specifically say that you cannot use exfoliating cleansers with granules on theirs - most likely because the motor is stronger and it will scratch your skin. I really liked the way my skin felt after using the Olay product. I felt sparkling clean and my skin was shining.



Versatility: This is where I love my Clarisonic more. Since I bought the pro, I can use it on my body, and have different size brush heads and change the timing. Is it worth 10x more the price? Not necessarily. The Olay Pro-X has two speeds, you don't really need more than that. But I do love having the option of using the full body brush on the Clarisonic. Also, there is slightly more control with the Clarisonic since it is sturdier, the ProX does slide a bit, though not excessively so. You can still maintain some control with the Por-X though not as much.



Charging: The Pro-X uses two double-A batteries that it comes with. It was a bear to take the battery case off, but once I did it was fine, and it doesn't need recharging that often. I use the best batteries in the world, eneloopSanyo Eneloop 8 Pack AA NiMH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteriesand I'm good to go for several weeks. The Clarisonic has a charging holder that you plug into the wall, you don't need to change the batteries, but you do need to find a place in your home to park it for an hour or so every week. I prefer having the double A rechargeable option of the Olay. It also makes it so much easier to travel with.



Please note: It is not that easy to figure out how to install the batteries, and there are no instructions. You might not want to pull open the wrong part of your product for fear of breaking it. I had to call the company to figure it out, and I've had a couple of people email me to ask me, so here goes: Hold the product with your right hand by the top/sides of the handle with the brush head facing down. Keep holding firmly with your right hand, while with your left you pull the handle away from you. The top part of the handle comes off to load the batteries.



The bottom line: I think the Olay Pro-X is a steal. If you are on the fence about which to buy this or the Clarisonic, and you only need it for your face and not your body, you will probably be better off saving your money and going with this! Personally, I am glad I have both. This is definitely worth the investment!
